Here are the blogs from the old site:
Love those close to you (8/12/14)
I am feeling much sorrow in losing such a wonderful character, talent and kind human being in Robin Williams. Having personal experience with what he was going through…I would like to remind everyone to love those close to you. It is much too late to say “you had a feeling something was wrong” after that person is gone.
There is something to be said about the old adage…”Give them their flowers while they are here”. It is simple…love them while they are here…whether through flowers, laughs, or a simple hug.
Enjoy your day!
Know love (6/15/14)
I woke up with a pressing need to say to you that I love you and with another to say that God loves you. No matter what you may feel, know that God loves you. He took a piece of himself, molded it into our likeness, sent Him here to face the torments of this life, let what amounted to everyday thugs kill Him, so that He could rejoin Him in Heaven…just so we would know LOVE….just so we could live forever in that love…just so we could lay our heads down at night and know we are loved no matter what anyone has done or said to us. Know you are loved. LOVED. LOVED.
Experiencing loss (6/12/14)
Adria felt the sting of what loss feels like today. I would like to request prayers for her and those close to the situation, especially the family. Death is something we will all experience but it makes the moment no less difficult and even though you feel sadness now, you will get through it. Think of the good memories and know that they are always with you. I love you! –mom
Graduation has come and gone. It was a wonderful time and a great adventure. Adria spent 4 years learning (hopefully) many new things at Agnes Scott College in Decatur, GA. I enjoyed visiting and even thought about moving there. But now that things are over, I want to wish Adria the best and say “Do your best in whatever you choose to do”.
As We prepare (5/8/14)
Let’s welcome Morgan Griggs!!That’s her ole father there with her…my brother Terry, but we won’t talk about him
Only 2 weeks to go and my oldest will graduate from college!! She left home just after turning 17 and now, 4 years later, she has accomplished her first goal. I am so proud of her and very happy for her.
She will be returning home where she has been accepted into NC State’s graduate school. Not only is she a second generation graduate but a legacy student as well.
Congratulations Adria!!! Red Fox Class of 2014 and soon to be proud Wolfpack!
With all the shenanigans going on with the Melvinowski, let’s not forget the little one’s birthday on April 28. Caleb will be 9 years old!!
Happy Birthday to you!!! I love you! –Mom
A Happy Birthday to the rest of the family as well:
Travis Melvin (Brother)
Taniiya Melvin (Niece)
Terry Griggs (Brother)
Thornie Melvin (Dad)
the late John Bordeaux (Grandfather)
Hey! This was Caleb’s first science fair. He did a project on Rocks and Minerals. He research question was “How are rocks formed?”.
I think he did a great job…but I am his mother.
He talked about the rock cycle and how there are 3 different types of rock: sedimentary, metamorphic, and igneous. He conducted 2 experiments that show how rocks form (with a crunchy peanut butter and jelly sandwich…go figure) and how rocks behave under pressure.
Look at that cheesy smile!
Those kids!! (3/16/14)
Caleb’s last basketball season ended without an update and we are at the end of yet another season. They won their last game of the season 19-10. Caleb actually put 6 points on the board. He is getting good at this thing called b-ball. They are 2-3 for the season and the playoffs start March 22.
It’s almost time for Adria’s graduation (Agnes Scott College Red Fox class of 2014) and for the moment I am happy to say, she is moving back to NC.
